South Carolina Players to watch:

Senior WR/RS Deebo Samuel (6-2/210)

Samuel is expect to run in the mid 4.3 range for scouts.

Samuel led the Gamecocks with 62 receptions for 882 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns, returned 23 kickoffs for 570 yards, a 24.8-yard average, and averaged 123.2 all-purpose yards per game while scoring 13 touchdowns overall. (Update: Samuel will NOT play in the bowl game.)

*Junior LB T.J. Brunson (6-1/240)

Brunson led the team and ranked ninth in the SEC with a career-high 94 tackles, an average of 7.8 per game. He also led the squad with 10.5 tackles for loss and was second with 4.0 sacks.

Senior OG Zach Bailey (6-5/314)

Bailey was a key figure in helping the Gamecock offense average 32.6 points and 440.2 yards of total offense per game. The Senior from Summerville, S.C., started all 12 games during the season and 38 in his career, most on the squad. 

*Junior P Joseph Charlton (6-5/190)

Charlton set the school record with a 44.8-yard punting average for a single season, and is the career leader in punting average at 44.0-yards per kick. Of his 43 punts, 24 were fair catches, 16 were inside the 20 and 13 traveled 50 yards or more, with a long of 66. The Gamecocks ranked 12th in the country in net punting with a mark of 40.95 yards.

Virginia Players to watch:

*Junior QB Bryce Perkins (6-3/215)

Perkins was named the winner of the 2018 Dudley Award as the state’s top Division I collegiate player. Photo: Lance King, Getty

Perkins is No. 2 in the ACC and No. 16 in the nation with 188 points responsible for. His 3,314 yards of total offense is a UVA single-season record and it currently ranks No. 2 in the ACC and No. 18 in the nation.

*Junior CB Bryce Hall (6-1/200)

Hall leads the nation with 22 passes defended and 20 pass breakups. He boasts 59 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, two interceptions, forced two fumbles and recovered another fumble.

Senior FS Juan Thornhill (6-0/200)

Thornhill is No. 4 in the nation and No. 3 in the ACC with five interceptions. He leads UVA with 92 tackles and five interceptions, while breaking up six passes.

Senior WR Olamide Zaccheaus (5-8/190)

Zaccheaus set a UVA single-game record with 247 receiving yards against Ohio, which also serves as the most receiving yards in a game this season by an ACC player and is tied for No. 3 in all of FBS in 2018. He needs only 42 receiving yards to become just the third Cavalier to reach 1,000 receiving yards in a season.
